Welcome spring!

When I received my monthly yourscrapbookstash kit I was SUPER excited to get the Springtime collection from Echo Park. I LOVE their products and the colors of this line are so fresh and happy! It totally got me in the mood for spring... too bad it is still way too cold over here for spring... BUT we finally have some rays of sun during the day.. these totally make me happy!

Butterfly crafts is having their first sketch on the blog with the new design team entries. All the girls are so creative! I love watching the different takes using the sketch..

This is the sketch I am talking about:

And this is the layout I made using Echo Park Springtime and the sketch above:

Hop over to the butterfly crafts blog and also to the yourscrapbookstash store for some AMAZING deals on scrapbook supplies.. they are truly one of the cheapest stores I found online!

Smell the flowers

Thats right! You've got to smell the flowers!!

Flowers is my first subject at the scrap yourself blog. A perfect place to get inspiration to scrap about YOU! Because YOU are important too! YES!

You may notice that I scrap a lot about myself, while I still have two children. One is that my husband is not very into publishing photos online from them.. a bit protective I guess, but ofcourse I accept his thoughts and feelings (although I will sneak one in once in a while LOL).. another factor is that I DO love to scrap about myself. Not only because I am important too, but to self reflect, to learn, to accept.
They don't have to be all deep and meaningful, they can be about everyday life and still be treasured in further generations! I know I would LOVE to have a scrap album about my mom or grandma.. how fun would that be?! So I just assume that my kids, grandkids and further generations would love to read and get to know me through my own words, thoughts, feelings and art.

Here is my layout:

I used the gorgeous chipboard from Basic Grey's Curio collection available at yourscrapbookstash.com for a REALLY great price with 25% off!!! They have the perfect price for everything, really.. and there is always some brand at sale! Go check the blog for announcements and special coupons!

They also have a DT spot left!!! So if you're from the US or Canada, go grab your chance! Erica is the sweetest to work with and she selects the prettiest things!

Good luck and happy creating!

Here is my first ever sketch:

and here is my layout:

I thought all the strips of paper/ribbon where such a fun element. I also bought these fun paper spools at a local store and used it to attach the banner to.

This sketch is a perfect way to use up some scraps of paper! Come over at the blog, create a page using my sketch and have a chance on winning some great prizes from yourscrapbookstash.com! Hope to see you there!

I hope everyone of you had a great Valentines day!! I know I did!! I got some gorgeous flowers from my sweet husband AND a new car! YES!! a real car that is.. I am SOOO happy. It's a black Peugeot 107 and I love how tough it looks.. It's a sweet, small, cool car!

Last weekend we also celebrated our oldest sons birthday, so that was hectic! He had his birthday party for his friends yesterday which was exhausting but fun! And now I am totally back and ready again to do some creative work! I already missed it after a couple of days no scrapping.

Here is my valentines layout. I know it's a bit late, I wish I posted it Monday, but hey.. life gets in the way sometimes right?!

I used products from Yourscrapbookstash.com. the perfect online store to grab your products for amazing prices! I used the sweetness line from Pink Paislee.Clear doilies, ribbon, envelope, chipboard heart and pins from Maya Road. Cardstock stickers from Glitz Designs. Bakerstwine from Jillibean soup and paper from Restoration by Crate Paper.

Sometimes I wish it was yesterday..

This week I decided to combine this beautiful color scheme from Color Combos Galore

with this cool sketch from Creative Scrappers

I absolutely love the colors and the little chocolates totally inspired me!! They also totally made me eat way too much chocolate.. LOL

This is the end result:

The lines are a little off. but it really is straight IRL! The spring market line from Websters pages is SO beautiful! I love the flower cards paper and will use it a lot in the future for sure! Also the netting makes perfect backdrops for rolled felt flowers.

Creative Scrappers #141

I just recently discovered Creative Scrappers and I love the site already! I LOVE challenge sites and I love the sketches at CS. They sure seem to challenge me to create even more then I already did..

so I had to play along this week with sketch 141 which is this one:

I love the design here and it helped me a lot to scrap a photo I had in my stash waiting for some inspiration..

Here is the layout I made:

I really didn't know how to scrap this photo.. it is me doing my homework since I just started school again.. In the end I am happy with how this layout turned out!
I used Elementary from Studio Calico, School days from Crate Paper, circa 1934 by Cosmo Cricket, time rub-ons from 7Gypsies, twine from JilliBean Soup and Prima flowers.

Go and create along with the CS scrappers! It's a great bunch of people.

Published at Scrapbooking.com

YAY! I just received a super sweet email from Jami that my "Adore" layout is published in their online magazine at scrapbooking.com. You can find it HERE

If you want a FREE subscription to Scrapbooking.com Magazine just click the image:

It is one of the first layouts I showed online AND I submitted this layout for the yourscrapbookstash DT call.

It is SO fun when people like what you make.. it fulfills SO much more than I ever thought. I never saw the reason to actually go online and show what I can do, and share in creative work with other people. I always thought I was not good enough and that it was OK to just share this hobby with myself.. boy was I wrong!!! This blogging journey, which of course just started, is giving me so much joy and participating in all the challenges online is the best thing I did!! I love it and i am thankful for all you great people who are stimulating in creating.

Don't forget, today will be the last day to participate in the YSS CHA blog hop! Tomorrow I will announce the 3 winners of the $10 gift cards to yourscrapbookstash.com

The Color Room

YAY! Another week at The Color Room! I LOVE that site! LOL

This is the palette..

The palette this week is so soft and gorgeous and I had a blast creating!

Here is my layout..

My first time playing with buttons!! and I love the effect it has here. Also I love the Websters pages netting. I am not a big flower person, so the netting is perfect for me to layer and create even more dimension in a page. AND the background paper is from the jaw dropping `Spring Market` line from Websters pages. I am very happy with how this layout turned out.

There is still a GREAT sale going on at yourscrapbookstash.com, so go take your chance while there is still the 25% off coupon code this week! check out the yourscrapbookstash blog to continu the blog hop we are having untill tuesday feb. 1st. I will be back tomorrow with another chance on winning a $10 dollar gift certificate!

The Color Room

This is palette 42 at the color room. It is absolutely gorgeous and these colors I would have NEVER stucked together on a layout, so thats why I love it even more. I am enjoying myself by playing along with the color room and color combos galore every week. They sure are stretching limits!

Here is the page I completed using the above color scheme:

Its called "blossom, grow, bloom"

I will be back tomorrow with a cute Valentines Tagbook I made!

Project 52 - week 1 & 2

I decided to jump in on Project 52 and make a self portrait every week. Yes yes, I know I said that I wouldn't do all these projects that are going on, but I just can't seem to focus on the one little word enough to be satisfied. So, this is a nice thing to follow along with.. it's weekly, so low pressure.. AND I received my gorgeous products from YourScrapbookStash that I really wanted to work with right away.

Here are my first 2 layouts using my first 2 self portraits.

week 1:
I used Love Nest from Glitz Designs, pleated ribbon and chipboard postage frame from Maya Road, bird and white cardstock from Artemio (Dutch brand)

week 2:
I used Love Nest from Glitz Designs, stickers from Lovey dovey from Bella BLVD, creme tag (YSS) transparant doilies by Maya Road.

I am excited for this as it feels like all the thought I had in my head to create an art journal/one little word album can perfectly be combined with this Project 52 - weekly portraits.

YAY!
